When I was little child and hungry for something sweet, we mixed the sponge cake batter in a bowl and ate with a spoon! This recipe is about as simple as that! You will need puff pastry on a roll, a can of Dulce de leche some bananas, chocolate, butter and sugar. Yes maybe not as easy but almost!

  • 250 grams puff pastry (on a roll)
  • 200 gram dulce de leche
  • 100 grams of dark chocolate
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar
  • Fling salt and vanilla ice cream for serving


  1. Heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet
  3. Prick the puff pastry using a fork (save an edge of 3 inches around)
  4. Bake the puff pastry for 10 minutes
  5. Prick the puff pastry once more when it is done so that it collapses.
  6. Melt the chocolate over a water bath
  7. Divide the bananas lengthwise so that there are three parts of each banana and fry the bananas in butter and cane sugar for about 2 minutes on each side.
  8. Spread a thick layer of Dulce de leche on the puff pastry and drizzle over the melted chocolate
  9. add the fried bananas and top with flake salt
  10. Serve with vanilla ice cream
